Pfleiderer, a company listed at the Polish stock exchange and based in Wrocław (Poland) as well as Neumarkt (Upper Palatinate) is a manufacturer of engineered wood for a wide variety of applications.

Commissioned with refurbishment, repair and overhaul tasks at three locations, SGS Industrial Services’ team was facing a tough challenge and fully delivered.

With a wide range of various raw particleboards and fiberboards, Pfleiderer Holzwerkstoffe GmbH's products are in high demand for very special applications such as fire protection or shipbuilding. Pfleiderer relies on tailor-made solutions and an individual range of services – entirely in line with the brand values of SGS Industrial Services and its commitment to implement all orders with utmost perfection. The assembly teams led by Construction Managers Andre Schulze and Harald Mayer were deployed to a full three production facilities in Germany. Project Manager Anton Stelzhammer: “On the one hand, plant revision projects of such a large scale naturally present a challenge. On the other hand, we can fully rely on our teams’ vast expertise in all conceivable situations. In a very short period of time, we have completed our revision work – each lasting ten days – in an impeccable manner in three factories, specifically in Neumarkt, Baruth and Leutkirch.” A total of one hundred employees were deployed to Pfleiderer's headquarters in Neumarkt and sixteen to the Baruth site. A team of ten people was working on site in Leutkirch in the Allgäu region. Various tasks were carried out on a total of around twenty different sub-sections. “Specifically, our team in Baruth replaced the rollers on a press and work on the fiber bunker. The Leutkirch team replaced the ball races on a dryer as well as the rotating air-to-air heat exchanger and removable accumulator.
The team deployed to Neumarkt, among others, carried out revision tasks on the trough chain conveyor, the spreader and the final assembly system. It furthermore installed a new mat steaming system and relocated a 65-ton sanding machine. Parallel to the shutdown, a new sanding line was installed on commission from Kontra.
The particular challenge here certainly lay in the given schedule and the large number of employees, who have completed a large number of different tasks with the most diverse requirements within a very short period of time to the client’s full satisfaction.
